Description

A Bridoon is a single or double jointed bit designed to be used on a
double bridle with a Weymouth. The Bridoon sits above the Weymouth in
the horse’s mouth. It regulates lateral flexion, as the branches work
independently.

The Eggbutt Bridoon’s rings are smaller than a standard Eggbutt’s rings, so that the rings do not
interfere with the Weymouth. The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents pinching of
the lips and gives a slightly more solid feel against the side of the
face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The
release is slower than the Loose Ring Bridoon and also introduces some
poll pressure.

The Lock-Up Snaffle removes the nut cracker action
of a regular snaffle. It is a good choice for a horse with a sensitive
tongue, as it reduces tongue pressure. Our snaffle is designed so that
the underneath of the link is smooth, thus eliminating a pressure point
on the tongue. Our bits are also curved so that they fit the shape of
the horse’s mouth.
