Fitting & Buckling

  • The bridle goes easily over the ears, the cheek piece is not loose
  • There is at least 1 finger's width of space between the bit and the first molar
  • A bit with loose rings has a maximum distance of 2-5mm between the corner of the mouth
  • The bit rings on a loose ring snaffle move freely and do not pinch the corner of the mouth
  • The bit does not come into contact with any teeth
  • The bit fits the anatomical requirements and character of the horse

While Riding

  • Happy Horse
  • Chewing well, relaxed topline
  • Appropriate response to aids

After Riding

  • No Pressure points or irritation on the palate, tongue or corners of the mouth
  • Content and relaxed horse
