We designed the Innovative stirrups Winderen Knee Protect Solution with kinetic energy absorber system in order to significantly reduce strain on the rider’s knee joints during riding, especially when jumping over fences. At the same time, Winderen Knee Protect Solution stirrups allow to achieve an unusually solid and unchangeable foot position in the stirrup, which provides stable and comfortable lower leg application.
The concern of a solid and unchangeable foot position in the stirrup is faced by many riders. During our researches it turned out that in most cases stirrups move or fall out because of micro movements in the rigid connection point of stirrup leather with the stirrup. Our absorber-system, in a large extent, prevents that phenomenon, allowing the riders to feel a stable and comfortable leg position while jumping over fences and also during flat work. Simultaneously our stirrups significantly reduce the risk of shifting or losing a stirrup, leading to a loss balance often caused by stiff stirrups.
Developed to absorb part of the energy created by the direct pressure of the eyes of the stirrup to the stirrup leather. This mainly works when landing on stirrups after the jumps and makes the rider feel safer and more confident.
Absorbs part of the energy created by landing on stirrups and also provides a stable and comfortable foot support in the stirrup during the jumping course as well as during flat work. Also suits the needs of endurance riders.
Taking into account the different preferences of the riders, we made it possible to individually adapt the tilt of the footpad, giving the ability to adjust it classically (flat) and up to a tilt of 5 degrees.
The footpad is made of durable and extremely abrasion-resistant composite. Spike-shaped extensions improve the adhesion of the shoe-sole, preventing the foot from slipping out of the stirrup. The footpad dimensions are 122mm x 60mm.
We care about the full satisfaction of our customers. If our hard-wearing grips get abrased, you can send your pair of stirrups back to us and we will exchange your footpad for a new one 🙂
To get the right stirrup weight, the metal frame was made of high quality, durable aluminum. The footpad and also the upper absorber cover are made of durable composite. In this way, we achieved the weight 560g / 1.24 lb for one stirrup.
This is the weigh most riders described as “appropriate”. They are neither too light nor too heavy. Thanks to the right balance they are virtually undetectable.
Knee Protect Solution stirrups have been created in cooperation with riders on various levels of training. From hobbyists, through amateurs, to professional riders.
This large group included not only jumpers, but also dressage riders as well as eventers. A large part of the test-group were riders having suffered from injuries and therefore complaining about pain in their knees and ankles, occurring immediately after training. They testified that their pain is considerably reduced using our stirrups. We have adopted such a wide and diverse test-group, in order to create a product that satisfies the expectations of all kind of riders, regardless of the level of training or discipline. In our opinion, this goal was achieved in 100%.
The difference of the forces acting on riders weighing 50 kilograms / 110 lb, and those weighing 90 kilograms / 198 lb is considerable. We have achieved our goal to blur these differences by using smart materials in the energy absorption system of Knee Protect Solution. Our stirrups provide all riders the same comfort, independent of their weight.

If the bit is unsuitable and was a buy now, it can be returned if it is unused and in its original packaging. If you have opted for the 30 day trial you can return the bit within the 30 days and will receive a refund minus the hire fee applicable to the item trialled.
The trial fee varies per product as this price is related to the retail price
Please take care of the bit, as it is the customers – (the holder of the account that the bit is purchased on) responsibility to make sure that the bit is kept in good condition throughout the trial period and thereafter, the customer is also responsible that the bit is kept safe from theft and loss, as if you cannot return then you will be unable to return the bit for the part refund.
It is recommended that the bits are returned via a tracked postal facility as The Horse Bit Shop cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage in the post when being returned
The 30 day’s trial period will start from the postage date that The Horse Bit Shop posts the bit which will be postal dated on the envelope, which takes less than 48 hours from dispatch for delivery to the UK. The return date that the bit has reaches The Horse Bit Shop will be the date of despatch which will be 30 days after the postal date. Please note it can take 3 – 5 working days to dispatch and deliver orders.
Dates to which the bit should be returned may be subject to change if the day falls on a Public Holiday. If the bit is not returned by that date then or the bit is returned damaged or not fit for purpose you will not be entitled to a refund.
For other countries where shipping times are longer, the trial period will be increased to a maximum of 36 days according to the current postal delivery times, the date to be returned will be stated in the letter included in with the bit, the bits will be dispatched via airmail and will be expected to be returned via airmail, as surface mail can take up to 50 days for some countries. Please allow plenty time for the bit to reach the UK, you will not be entitled to a refund, even if the bit is in transit.
On return of bits on 30 day trial you will receive a refund for the price of the bit minus the trial fee.
The 30 day trial is not be available on such products which are of plastic/rubber due to the fact they are not as resistant to wear and tear and cannot be sterilised to the required standards. Trial bits can be bits from our bit library and may have been used previously and therefore not always brand new bits however should you have received a trial bit it can be exchanged for a brand new before the end of the trial period should you be keeping the bit. We do aim to send brand new bits when possible and all bits sent will be fit for purpose and fully sanitised.
